Picture perfect forecast for NEW YORK memorial day weekend!!!!!
This thursday I'm headed to Limestone, NY for memorial day weekend. I checked the forecast and it looks like it's going to be the best week to hunt in a long while. I spoke with some people whom live in the area and said that the birds are really picking up vocally. This weekend might be a time to be out in the woods if your season is still in. I know most of the New Yorkers will be out and will definitely enjoy the weather. Take care and good luck to the ones that are still hunting!

Where at in New York are you hunting? I'm looking forward to the hunt, so hopefully the birds will be doing a lot of talking. If you want to meet up I'll call and not hunt. I just love to be out in the woods. I've killed seven on the year and would be fine if I don't kill another. I just want to be where the action is happening. Take care and have a safe week!

I seen from some of your earlier posts that you may
be hunting in the Allegheny State Park. I may be
mistaken, but I think the last day to hunt in the
park is Friday, which would be the 26. I think they
close it down to hunting because of all the people
going there for the weekend. I hope I am wrong because
I would like to hunt there also, I used to hunt it alot
but not in the last couple years. Maybe someone from the
area could clarify this. Anyhow good luck and good hunting.

David,
I just called the Allegany State Park [phone: (716) 354-9121], and indeed the Park police informed me that the last day to hunt in the park is Friday the 26th. They have no hunting during prime camping season, from Memorial day through Labor day weekends.
Also, NYS DEC states that to hunt in the park you need a permit (issued by the police) and there is still no Sunday hunting, a holdover from about 15 years ago...
Maytom lives out by Rochester, I suggest you drop him a PM ASAP, if you're committed to that area...
Sorry dude...

gobblergetterNY,
Let me know how to get to where your located and we can make this happen. Two hunters are better than one and I love hunting with others. I'll be located in Limestone, NY til Monday, so weather is going to be the best so far. Hopefully, we can get together and chase those weary longbeards. Take care!
