Congratulations, and tell your boy the same. Great story and I'm am sure you are justifiably proud of him. The picture on his face tells the whole story. My son took his first deer at age 8 and it was a day neither of us will ever forget, so I know just how you feel.
I am trying hard to get my boy his first. We have two more weekends here in Tennessee (I hate the late season hunting when the turkeys essentially quit gobbling). He had a 20 yard shot at a half-strutting jake two weeks ago and couldn't get lined up in time. Maybe this weekend.
Again, congratulations to both of you and mount that beard, fan, and feet!
