Kansas Opener Double!
Yesterday morning, My fiance and I went out turkey hunting. Birds were literally everywhere, with 5-6 different flocks roosted on the same area of the creek we were hunting. You literallycouldn't go more than 5 seconds without hearing a gobble coming from somewhere, while the sun was coming up. There wereso many birds.
My fiance shot the Jake (5 1/2 " beard)at under 10 yards, and I shot my Tom at about 15 yards (10 1/2 " beard). It was a beautiful morning, and I'm glad we could both be successul.
That makes 2 years in a row, we've gotten a double on opening morning. Last year we both got 10" toms.
