That stupid hen in my pic is a lawn oniment I don't use it at all . I just wanted to see if the Old Strutter liked her LOL.
I will send Jim (Jalvja) out with it on the opener to see if it works ...BT

Let me add a word of caution here!!
I would not use this type of set-up on ANY heavily hunted land! Private or Public!
There are some rummies out there that just may take a pot shot at this!
In other words - SAFETY should be utmost in your mind!

RE: "Pretty Boy and Pretty Girl" decoys assessment
Thought I’d share my fan use to simulate the Pretty boy set-up I made.
Here is my decoy set-up
And a side view
I know looks hooky – but if you want to do it yourself this is what I did and I don’t want it looking so real it pouts me in jeopardy……
This is the fan mount with ground stake removed.
First the fan is just air dried with salt on the meaty portion. I do spread the fan and hold it in place. I have posted how I mount a fan before. Second the bracket is made out of light plywood with an oak spacer. One of the half round pieces that hold the fan is glued to the oak spacer. All is held together by bolts and then I just painted it flat black. That way if I ever want to change the fan I can.
Close-up of the front side of the fan mount. This side will be touching the back of my decoy and is the side I secure my ground stake with 2 single wing nuts.
This is a close-up of the center wood oak spacer.
Now look at any photo of any turkey in strut looking at his rump with his fan fully extended and what do you see……I tried to simulate that!
And the whole thing from the back. – What a turkey would see as it comes from behind!
And last a word of caution – I ain’t using this set-up in any private or public where someone could sneak up on me. And I sue a full blind when I use this and do place it very close to the dead center of my blind. I DO NOT BRUSH MY BLIND IN AND IT STICKS OUT LIKE A SORE THUMB! But I am still taking a risk!!
Be safe out there!
