They are beatin the woods down in NC!
Since its warmed up around here I have been the last two mornings to 2 different spots and had 5-7 gobblers sounding off a bunch on the roost. They hammered owl and crow calls.
This evening, I had several longbeards gobbling their heads off at my owlingafter they flew up. Our season starts a week from Saturday and I think the timing is perfect!

Looks like you are in the mountains.
I looked on yahoo maps and you are
156 miles away from where I live in
Seagrove NC.
The turkeys arent to vocal here for some reason.
There is a lot of coyotes around.
I don't know if that has any thing to do with it or not.
I have heard then drum and spit but no gobbles.
And when they go to roost they will make a little noise.
Other than that they stay quiet.
I am glad you are hearing a lot of gobbling.
Good Luck
