I'd use any gun that flung lead. I currently use a Rem. 870 supermag w/ Mad Max 2 hevi-shot choke - it likes Winchester #5's in the 3.5" variety. I've killed turkeys with improved cylinder hand-me-down guns. Shooting the turkey is the easy part. Finding a big one, getting him to come close and stand still - that's the hard part.
It's like that golf addage "Drive for show, putt for money" - it's like that in the turkey woods. Shoot for show, call for money. I carry about a million calls, but my favorites area reeded owl hooter (maker unknown), M.A.D. Shippwreck mouthcall, and Quaker Boy Aluminator. I used to get a lot of action on the crow call, but in recent years, they've become less responsive to it around here. Maybe they're getting smarter, who knows?

Mossberg 935 12 gauge (autoloader) w/ turkey barrel, Rhino choke and Bushnell Holosight, loaded with 3.5 " Federal Flite Control #5 Heavyweight shells. 3 "no flop" kills last spring with that setup, shooting lefthanded (I'm a righty) because I broke my right thumb just before turkey season.
Calls--I like Primos stacked frame (any), Quaker Boy Grand Old Master box call.

As for favorite call...I actually prefer my Primos Freak slate call over all the others...I also have a Black Magic that I use if I need to get the range...
