Proud of myself, made a striker...kinda. (pic)
I have a collection of strikers..as most of us do...and as we know we can take a glass call, throw a couple different strikers on it and we have a different call....
Well being "in the business"...I have had the opportunity to be handed strikers by most of the manufacturers for free....one particular striker caught my fancy and it's the only one I've actually purchased....nothing special, wood striker with a carbon arrow on the tip....I love how it ran on the Mojo so I bought it....I also loved a similiar one with an aluminum arrow....thought no way I'm buying that one....said, I can make that one..(could have made the other too) so yesterday I experimented...cut down several different lengths of aluminum arrows...took the River Valley Hickory striker and sanded it down to slide into the aluminum shaft, ran it, loved it....glued it....what a sweet sound, raspy, able to kee-kee and to top it off I made my sweetheart watch and listen while I made perfect sounds while running water over it out of the kitchen faucet.....
