I like to shoot my 10-22 and practice a lot with it. I routinely hit bottle caps at 50 yards and in. I would think, that were it legal, I could take a turkey with the 22LR. If he would stand still for more than 2 seconds I think that I could make that head shot. The nice thing about that is that if you make a hit it is in the head or neck and death should follow very quickly, if you miss, ir should be a clean miss and no injured animal!

In nebraska it is illegal to shoot turkeys with a rifle, But many of the farmers shoot with thier rifles anyway to try to lower the population because we got way more than we need anyway. I was with a farmer when he shot one with his 30-06 at 50 yards. there wasn't much left to clean.
