I'm in northern WV which at least as I understand it is pretty much the southern edge of there range. I have been getting pics for several years and seen a few in the woods as well.

Were they re-introduced into your area or never left? They were re-introduced into our area about 20 years ago. From what I understand, their numbers were really dwindling around the turn of the last century. They were always native, but pretty wiped out. Now they're pretty abundant.

They were pretty well wiped out, and were reintroduced in 1969.

This is the first year we've seen them. Even though they've been re-introduced for a long time. There's even a fisher trapping season up where we are. Although I would have no idea how to catch one.
