Chaz I just got one and mine is a 3.0 and 1.3...Their web-site even says 3.0 and 1.3...Sure yours is a capture??
They can apply the 5.0 to night time shots but it's going to cost you and I the consumer more money...

RE: Cuddeback Capture IR!
I got one for Christmas and have posted a link to the pics that I got. These were taken on a new setup that I first put corn out when I put the cam out. I checked it after about a week and I should have more this weekend.

RE: Cuddeback Capture IR!
I personally dont like the IR at all. I called cuddeback and talked with a rep a few days ago and they said they are making changes to the IR so look for something new in the future. He said it works fine, but they made some improvements. My bro in law got the IR and even the daytime pics look grainy. It also puzzles me why some IR's have 5.0 on the box and others are 3.1. Its the same camera and even cuddeback said they didnt make a 5.0 capture.
I have 3 captures and love them.. night time pics are pretty impressive as well as daytime, but some daytimes are blury. I have pics of deer in mid jump(clear pics also). Not one flase picture in 5months. Someone mentioned battery life, but I still have 75% battery life on each camera and each camera has well over 200pics on it, but it doesnt get the -0 temps here in Va.
here are a few capture pics.. nothing impressive but we dont have gaint deer in Va as the midwest.
for the money, I cant complain... trigger speed kicks butt also. The bottom 2 pics are of the same buck 10 days apart within 15mins of the first pic. I was worried about flash spooking, but he doesnt seem spooked. The only downside is the range. After about 35ft you start getting out of flash range. On a fieldedge it might not work great, but in the woods it should do the job

talked to a lady at cudde customer service on Thursday...She said they are coming out with a firmware update in the next two weeks that will greatly enhance the IR picture quality!! So now just wait for the firmware to come out!

RE: Cuddeback Capture IR!
Feed Man, I thought about getting the IR untill I saw my friends pics.. hopefully the update helps though. I dont plan on placing the capture right under my stand anyway. I normally put them in the same area I hunt just to see whats roaming. So if a deer spooks from it, it wont effect my stand or the trail im hunting. However, I didnt see any sign of spooking. I got numerous pics of the same deer night after night.
Its better picture taking camera out there, but you have to spend 100-200bucks more to get those but still the speed and pictures im getting im more than happy with
