COUPLE OF SIMPLE QUESTIONS???
I would like to buy a new trail cam. I had a couple before that took the film. I do not like that type. I want to buy one that uses a card that you can take in and out, then plug into your computer. Does it takeanything special on your computer?? How many pictures can you get on the card?? Which camera is the best value for a decent price??
I have been studying the trail cam web sites, and their information is at best vague. Tom.

Did you go to this website? http://www.chasingame.com/
They have informative reviews.
I recently bought a Moultrie I-40 and am very impressed with it. It is a huge improvement over their old camera.
Usually the memory cards just plug into your computer and the computer starts up the necessary program to view them automatically.
How many pics on a card? Depends on the size of the card. The short answer is 'lots of pictures'.

Best camera for the price will probably be the moultrie cam. Takes a really nice pic and doesn't cost a whole lot of money. It does have a slower trigger time, so if you are going to be using it on trails, then you may want to look at another brand, however, if you are putting it over a food area or a "baited" area such as a feeder, then this camera is great!
Most of the newer digital trail cams have a removable memory card that you can plug into your computer. If you want to be able to leave your camera out in the woods constantly, you can get two cards and swap them out and bring the card that has been in the woods home. To check the contents of the card, you can get a card reader. You can get a 13 in 1 card reader for $20 or so. A card reader like this would read just about any type of memory card on the market today.
