Okay, here is my question on the CamTrakker Digital Ranger.... lets say you put fresh batteries in the unit, how many pics do you believe that you can get before the batteries in the camera are dead.
The sensor runs off of 4C's andI haven't replaced them yet so they are going to last for months. As for the actual Sony rechargable camera battery, I've had over 780 pix on it before and the battery still had power and MOST of those pix were night FLASH photos! You can buy another battery and just swap 'em out just like a memory card and I'd bet you'd never have to worry about the battery life if you check it every couple weeks.

Thanks for the feedback. I think I will go with the Digital Ranger. IL-Cornfed, can you post a picture that was taken at night with the flash? Alos do you use the c batteries or did you use teh rechargable option that camtrakker offers? THanks again..
I'm actually going to check my cams in about an hour (as well asplanting another food plot)so I'll post the most recent night pix when I get back home.

The 4 C's only power the sensor and they seem as though they are going to last forever. I just don't see a reason to use rechargables for them. It's the actual camerabattery thatIS a rechargable and it will last for a ton of photos (800+) or a few weeks from what I've observed. Buy an extra battery and simply swap 'em out, along with the memory card, when you go to check your cam.

What do you set your delay at?

Battery Life?

What is the best source to purchase?
I originally had the delay set for 20 seconds but I was honestly getting TO MANY pix! Hundreds of photos per week of anything that moved, turkey, rabbit, squirrel, coon, possum, etc so I changed the delay to 1 1/2 minutes right now.

Battery life seems excellent at this point, as described in my posts above

As far as best place to buy, factory direct is about the only way to get a new Cam Trakker model.

I'll post more later, now I'm off to put some seed in the ground

IL-Cornfed,

That is great info, i have 2 of the older model 35mm camtrakkers, that i think i will trade-in towards the ranger digital.
My 35mm's were always trouble free, and got great pictures.

It's just a cheap Moultrie 100. It actually belongs to a buddy at work who wanted to test it out. I told him I would give it a good run for him.

MJR10,

Congrats on the cam! I can't wait to hear your feedback and look forward to seeing your pix. I will be ordering yet another Cam Trakker before the season gets here.
