First bow hunt

First bow hunt
I've been practising for over a year ,
the season begins tomorrow , and when I shot at my 3-D this afternoon the first arrow went right to the vitals and got good penetration . I'm ready . My gear is prepped , my tank is full , and at 3:30 tomorrow morning I'll take my PSE Kudu with 50# limbs to the Hoosier National Forest near Celina for my very first bow hunt . To say that I'm stoked is an understatement , I can't sleep a wink right now !
I'll be setting up at a nice lake with a thick hardwoods surrounding it . I'll be perched on a big rock at the junction of two main trails that bypass the base of a ridgeline just a hundred yards uphill from the lake . There are all kinds of tracks between the rock and the lake , it looks promising ...
Good luck to all who's seasons are coming in , and those who are already hunting . Be safe and have fun !

RE: First bow hunt
After going into the woods with a recurve/longbow ......... its hard to take anything else. I hunted muzzleloader elk a few weeks back and it just wasn't the same.
I bet you feel the same way. Don't matter really if you kill anything, just having fun, enjoying the woods and having a bow in hand makes it al worth while.
Hey, take a shot at the first squirrel that comes through ..... you'd be surprised how quick them buggers are !

Good luck and it will be a blast. and the rush you will get when the oportunity comes and you arrow your first trad deer. My first was 2 years ago, and I got a nice 3X2 mulie, Don't think I will ever pick up a compound again.
