The ones of us that heat our broadheads are shooting wood arrows. We use hot melt glue to attached them to the arrows point taper, so we gotta get the head hot enough to keep the glue liquified till we get em turned just right & straight on the shaft. Then a quick dunk of the tuned head into cold water sets everything. Hope this helped. <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>

Arrowsmit, you said after getting them right you dunk 'em in cold water. Does that make a big difference in how it holds? I've always just let them cool naturally. Never heard of dunking. ???

Since I am using Aluminum arrow, I usually epoxy my broadheads to the adapters. Then I use hot glue to install the adapters to the shafts. That way, I don't have to heat the broadheads and possible loose paint of teflon. I just heat the shafts and turn the adapters to make any adjustments.
