I believe Fred Bear was right handed, but shot as a lefty due to a left dominant eye. Then again, Howard Hill was cross dominant & didn't switch...hmmmm. My gut tells me if I was just starting out I'd learn to shoot w/my dominant eye. Glad I don't have to make that choice, it'd be a tuff one for sure.

Just to beat a dead horse...the first thing they teach you in the NAA Coaches' school is to determine whether the students are right or left eye dominant and then to fit them with equipment accordingly. Moreover, the Korean Olympic Team, which has been remarkably successful the last few years, requires that even accomplished archers who wish to qualify for the team relearn to shoot with their dominant eye if they are cross dominant.

Thanks for all the advise guys. I think I am gonna try switching. I bought a LH 45# Browning Nomad off e-bay for $50.00. Not to bad just to try one out.

Man, there are a lot of cross dominant shooters here.

budabowhunter, in my opinion you're doing the right thing. The first thing I ever read about archery said to determine your dominant eye and choose the bow accordingly, which is just what I did. Fortunately, I'm right eye dominant and right handed. <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
