Default Day 1 report

Hello, everyone. It finally warmed up enough to get out in the back yard and try out the bow. You may remember me dropping in back in December and looking for advice. Sag, LBR and others were very helpful and I purchased my first bow ever (recurve) and I also got my son a starter set (20 lb recurve)for Christmas. He's just now turning 6. We got out there and shot at a target I hung on a stack of straw bales for about 2 hours today and he kicked my tale! Neither one of us did too much damage to the target, but he is certainly more accurate than I am. He hasnt stopped talking about how much fun he had and we cant wait to get back out there tomorrow. I have a LONG way to go before I'll feel comfortable hunting with my bow, but I can see we'll have fun getting there.
Thanks again.
SC

Hiya SC, it's good to see you again. Glad you and your son are having a great time together. Hehe, when you get to the point that you can shoot as well as your son, you'll know your going in the right direction. Kids just don't seem to know any other way to do it so it's all natural and they get real good at it real fast if we leave em alone long enough to do it. LOL. Keep coming back and sharing with us, that's what this place is all about.

Have Fun
Mike

Scrider,

Good to hear from you again and glad you're having fun shooting with your son.
Shooting my Recurves is lots of fun for me too. It's very addicting.
Has almost made me forget about my compounds.
Good shooting!

You're not kidding, Lilhunter...he was waiting for me at the door with his bow in his hand when I got home from work today. My wife said he'd been driving her crazy all afternoon asking when I was going get there!

Scrider, I just bought my first recurve also. The people on here have been great help. My son isn't quite old enough to shoot (2.5yrs), but man did he smile when I placed his hand around the grip of Daddy's new bow. Put a lump in my throat I could barely swallow. I can't wait until he's ready.

Excellent post there, Scrider. Great way to spend time with your children. Wahya's right, kids just do it, we think about it too much (instinctive.)

Welcome back to the board and go ahead and make it a habit after work. Time spent with your kids is time well spent.
