Now, I thought once you told me you can't stick a grip on a bow that is not stiff enough to begin with or it will pop off? You ain't sharin all your secrets.
In other words, it looks like your handle section is not very stiff now. Won't the handle pop off?

RE: Ipe, boo, trilam build along.
Back again. Got home from church and uwrapped the bow and cleaned it up. Its all looking good.
and here you can see how the belly lams run up the riser piece.
Im going to glue on a piece of ipe to finish out my belly lams and a block of osage to add to the gip area. Ill shape it tomorrow. Ill hand sand the handle smooth and even and use the belt sander to shape the block of Osage to fit the bow.
Now its all shaped, ill glue them on.
While that dries, ill sand down the tips so I can put on the overlays.
Im going to use ipe, osage, and antler for my overlays. I start by ripping some small pieces of ipe and osage and sand them thin and flat with the belt sander.
Now for the waiting game again. Tomorrow ill shape the tips a bit, cut the riser flat so I can start tillering.

Damn this freaking server! I swear I can only see these pages once out of every 5 or 6 times I try to open them!
That's looking great. I missed where the fades went in at tho, but it's sure coming out nice. What draw-weight were you shooting for again?

Mark, it is a little more time consuming to do a trilam like this. That is the initial glue ups, but if your measurements are good, and everything is done correct, the tillering is easier.

Disclaimer
I forgot to mention. If you are not sure of your band saw and belt sander skills, id suggest using a two part, gap filling epoxy like Smooth on ea40 or my new favorite, aero marine epoxy. I guess I think too highly of my skills to be using titebond III. I guess I dodged a bullet because everything matted well.
Here is the address to it. It cheaper than smooth on and is almost identical.
http://www.jgreer.com./index.htm Ive been using 300/11 on and love it.
