Default broadhead alignment

What's your preferred alignment for broadheads? I'm interested most in two blade heads, but thoughts and reasons for preferred 3 & 4 blade alignment should be similar.

Do you prefer the blades aligned to appear vertical at full draw? Horizontal? Do you care?

Ive never given it any thought. I always spin test my arrows, two or three blade. If they spin well, and are attached to a arrow that is tuned to my bow, it will shoot just fine. There was a time I liked to line all my two blades up to where they were vertical when nocked to my bow. But ive found it makes no difference if the arrow is tuned properly.

I have a brother that use to insist on lining his two blades up with his cock feather.

I don't really care. Where ever it ends up when it seats in the insert.

I prefer mine to be horizontal, if I'm using wood or aluminum arrows and have some control over it, but it's simply personal preference. Doesn't matter one way or the other. With carbon where I can't move the insert, it's like tx said, it just winds up wherever the thing seats.

I don't really care or think it matters if the line up or not. The one thing I do is at least keep them uniform!

Thanks Fellas.

Since I'll be installing the inserts, I have control over how the heads line up. Like you I've always just screwed them in and shot, but if there was a solid reason for a preferred alignment, I wanted to hear about it ahead of time.

Are you using carbons with the push in nocks?? If so, I just glued in my brass inserts, pushed the nock in, screw the head on, put the arrow in my fletch jig and turn my arrow until one of the blades lines up with the cock feather. I just like them to sit on my bow the same uniform way when nocked this is the only reason I do it this way!

Yeah, I am. I can either do it that way or align the inserts when I glue them up.

Thanks
