Putting together a recurve??

RE: Putting together a recurve??
I think he's wondering how to put the string on? Am I correct?
You need a recurve bowstringer......follow the instructions. IF you are going to damage a recurve it will be stringing or unstringing incorrectly so follow the directions carefully.

RE: Putting together a recurve??
Do you mean build one, or put together a take-down bow?
If it's the latter, it's simple. What kind of td system is it?The limbs will be marked (the lower limb is usually the one that has the poundage, etc. marked on it). It it's bolts/screws, you may have two bolts, or one bolt and an alignment pin. Pretty much self explanitory there. Just be careful that you don't over-tighten the bolts, or you can damage a limb. Just snug is fine, and check them once in a while to be sure they haven't loosened.
If you are talking about building a bow, I'm no help.

Yep--get a good bow stringer and follow the directions. I strongly advice having someone standing by close until you get the hang of using it, just in case you get the string half on and run out of juice--I know of at least one bow that was trashed like that.

I've always used my left foot and right leg withleverage as a bow stringer.
Am I gonna damage my old recurve doing that?
