First off, I want to apologize for not taking the time to welcome all the new folks that have started posting here recently. It's great to have you on board, and we welcome all your experiences and opinions.

If you haven't already, I think you will notice that we all have enough sense here to have varied opinions without coming unglued--and we are going to keep it that way. Anyone that has been able to shoot for a while and meet others, and try out different equipment, knows that what works great for one archer may not be worth fifty cents to another. We realize that here, and try to keep that in mind. Although I know without a shadow of a doubt that longbows are the ultimate weapon for the archer, I can tolerate folks talking about how great this or that recurve is without spouting off to much .

I'd also like to thank those of you that have been around for a while, and tolerated my feeble attempts at being a moderator. I must say, that it would have been a whole lot tougher job without the great people that post here. I'm still working on it, so ya'll please bear with me. As always, my e-mail is open and availible for hints, suggestions, and even criticism.

Ok, now lets have a group hug, sing a kum-ba-ya a few times, and get back to huntin'!

Chad

Sheesh, there you go again with that uninformed opinion about those glorified broom sticks being the ultimate weapon.

If you could just get over that little biased bump you could be a great moderator. hehe

Keep up the good work.

... kum ba ya, hhmmmm hhmmmm

If you're implying that longbows are glorified broomsticks perhaps you're envious of us on account of those hybrid curtain rods you recurve guys are shooting?? Things go pretty smooth here, people don't really need to be kept inline. Chad could probably take a week off and judging by the content of the posts there'd be nary a clue. Unfotunately we can't give that to Chad's credit. He's connections with that Canadian guy, so we let him stay anyways . This is a great place to converse about traditional archery. It's helped me out a lot since I started shooting tradtional. The bowhunting forum helped my compound year out a lot too.

God bless,
Brandan

Wonder what Chad is up to. He is usually not that smooth unless he wants something.

Well, thank you very much Mr. Spell-Check! How the heck have you been anyway? Been a while since we heard from you! Shoot me an e-mail when you get a chance, we need to start planning shoots for next year.

Hey Y'all- I dropped in a few weeks ago.
I'm an ole finger flinger from way back (hate releases)-
been shootin since I was 5 (50s)-
1st bow was a Bear Panda (I know none of you are that old!)
Started shooting competitively at 7 (still in the 50s).
I had a big advantage- my uncle was the rep for both
Bear & Wing for the west coast and my cousin was the
shop forman at Easton- got all my bows & arrows gratis

Quit shooting competitions in the late 80s-
just shoot for fun and bowhunt now-
still prefer to bowhunt with a recurve- simplicity!
(still have a closet full of bows, compounds too).

bow in the pic is an original Wing (prototype) compound 1973.
It was the first, long compound with recurve limbs (probably the only)-
won more tournaments with that bow than any other bow I've ever had.

..lookin forward to hangin out on your boards...

Hey CaptJack, Welcome. You and me are about the same age give or take a couple. Don't have near the experience as you though.
