I'm looking for info on a Jeffery's long bow.I can't remember all the details but I think it said Heritage and something else starting with a S.The bow was 68" & #70@28. The bow has been hanging up in a shop for a couple of years now and I think they got it new.They have put a clearence price of $150 and I don't think it sound to bad.Any info would be appreciated. It's also in great condition.Thanks in advance.

Really can't say I know anything about Jeffery's bows,but I do knowthat Owen Jeffery is a well known bowyer. He only lists one longbow on his website now, the Timberline, and sells it for $469.

Thanks for the help.I should have checked it out better,but I was in a hurry.It could be 4 or 5 years old I guess.I think for the money a guy couldn't go wrong.The bowlooks new but I don't know how it would handle in the tree at 68".

I've had one of their takedown recurves for 10 years or so. Excellent workmanship, a good solid bow, and it shoots where I point it.

If you use a 62" bow, just imagine an extra 3" on each end of the bow. On my keyboard, 3" is the distance from the middle of the A key to the middle of theG key. Then add from the H key to thesemicolon key for the other end. There's a mental gage. Really not all that much.

Now, if you were talking about going from a 52" bow to a 68 incher, then you'd be talking enough length to cause some big differences in handling.

$150 might not even cover the cost of the materials used to make the bow, so the price is definitely right. If you'reinterested in the bow, I'd say buy it. Even if you find out you don't like the way it handles in the treestand you can still use it for other stuff. You don't do all your hunting and shooting from a treestand, do ya? Or you could stick it on ebay and maybe make a little profit. (Of course, you could wind up losing your arse too.[:-])

It's a deal, but don't let the weight mess you up--overbowing can cause some serious bad habits. A friend of mine has a Jeffrey's, and he likes it. $150 will about cover the cost of materials if you wanted to make one--more or less depending on what woods you used.

68" bows aren't that bad in stands, just get used to shooting it from your stand (practice) and be aware of your limb positionif you are in a tight spot.

Thanks again guys.If I can scrape up the loot I'm going to get it.They've had it for a few years so I don't think it's going anywhere.I should be able to handle the #70 draw as long as it's not to cold.For 150 bucks it should be easyfor the other half toget use to.
