I blew it!
This might get long so be prepared.
This past weekend a a few of us went down to lower MI to visit my sister, and have some fun on saturday night (they would have fun, I would drive everyone home, I dont drink). I have an uncle who ownes a farm about an hour from my sisters, so in the back of mymind I was planing on going over there if I had time for some hunting. It all worked out and on saturday morning I was up at 5 and on my way to the farm.
I met up with my uncle around 7 and he showed me to one of his stands and I was in place at 7:15. About a half hour later I heard a deer cross the creek to my right. It was a good buck, he came in on my right side so I couldnt shoot. Deer came and went all day, they all should have winded me but man are the deer down there calm and cool. At around 10 I had a doe and 2 fawns come in from the my right, the wind was blowing over them and they never knew I was there. Once agin from the right came a buck, I looked over my sholder and saw he was coming right in so I stud up. He grunted a few times at the doe and walked right behind the stand. I knew he wasnt going to give me much of a shot so in one motion I swung around and drew. I picked a spot and let it go, the next thing I know the bow is jumping out of my hand and the arrow flying over the deers back. It was a few minuts befor I could figure out what happened. My bottom limb had caught the edge of the seat on the stand.
Lets just say I was mad, it was a good 8 point. I saw a few mor deer but no more bucks. Man our the deer down there calm, they dont compare to the deer in the UP.
