Default Bear Green 145-gr Razorheads

Has anyone had any experience with the older-style green BEAR RAZORDEADS?

I'm curious how they fly, penetrate, etc. Mostly how they fly.

Thanks,

I used them for years and wish they still made them. In 1980/81 I took a bull elk, 505# black bear, mule deer buck and two whitetails with the same head before hittin a rock on a pass through that destroyed the head. If you have them use them and cherish them!

If hadn't quit making the old style Razorheads, I'd have never used anything else. I've still got a half dozen of them I've been saving for a hunt special enough to call them out of retirement.

But - how did they fly? Some people have said they fly crummy.

???

I've never shot any broadhead that flies better than a Bear Razorhead. Even the new version flies better than most others I've tried. I won a couple of broadhead tournaments using them, back before the lawyers and insurance companies got involved in archery and there still was such a thing as broadhead tournaments. [&o]

So, all I can say about the people that claim otherwise is.... some people can't shoot a bow, can't tune a bow, or they just lie.

Arthur P,
On that note - was/is their any special techniques or tips you can give us for tuning broadheads and getting good flight?

Are there any major points/rules that must be followed?

I love it!

Anyway, I still have a dozen of the old bears attached to my late Father's old cedars. They are just for looks though. -Well, maybe sometime, I may just take one.

The are excellent , I have a couple of dozens that I have picked up on ebay.
If you sharpen them good penetration is as good as the zwickeys.

Just make sure your arrows are straight and properly spined, your nock point is correct, your brace height is right and your broadheads don't wobble when you spin them. That's all there is to it.
