Alot of questions about wood arrows.

Well , when I was Young and had little money , I used to make my own out ofhard wood dowels 5/16 they are a little thicker than the 11/32 but they shoot well if you take the time to straighten them, just out of curiosity I visited a flower and interion decor store called "Diamonds" and found some nice hard wood dowels that were almost straight, I bought two and work on them yesterday and boy ! they shoot good with the long bow didn't even paint them just some light sanding and they looked like they were varnished.
They cost me .69 C each. maybe you oaught to try those ?
Anybody else done that ?
