SEE? They are already eliminating it slowly! After checking, the Black Max has 5.5" also, so the prediction has come true already! NOW if we can get up to at LEAST 6.5" brace and get the same speed without killing ourselves, then we'll be in good shape. Good shooting, P12

Are they still listing the advertised IBO speeds for those bows on that website or did they finally hire someone to do independent testing for them.
I doubt that would affect the Bowtech bows that much but some of the others.........

Ill respectably disagree about Bowtec having the Fastest bow.Now i dont remember the name of the bow,BUT Ben Pearson produced it a few years back.It had a set of limbs that pulled around 150 lbs,and had to rely on a power assist cam to brake the cams over.It had a grip that pivoted back and forth,on rod's .Im remembering the bow shooting in the 390's,with moderately heavy arrows. It was discontinued shortly after it's conception. Some people were getting their thumbs caugh between the pivoting handle and the power assist cam,and breaking their wrists.Mabey some one can remember the name of this deceased beast? Ide like to see them shot side by side.

Pearson Advantage. Yep, supremely fast, nasty critter that had a trigger that sent the draw force from drawing a bow of 70lbs up to a power stroke of over 100lbs. I loved the concept, and played with one for a short while. Problem was they had little teflon bushings on the handle that wore out quickly, causing problems. I don't think you can compare the two bows due to the fact that the actual power stroke force is not the same. The BK2 with 70lbs, 350grain arrow, vs the Pearson with 350grain arrow, but a power stroke force of 100+lbs. Good shooting, P12

ahaha, just had have a quick laugh for a second.
Good topic, hey Pinwheel, always great to read your explanations on why we don't need to shoot tiny bows. As for me, I shoot a 68" olymrecurve, When I get a compound for hunting, its gonna be 41" ata. Wider is bettt ooooh not talking about cars here sorry, Longer ATA is better, from my point of view.

Wow Hidden Hunter, that sounds nutz. I haven't heard of that technological freak, for lack of a better word; and I'm having a hard time picturing it.
This might be as obvious as the nose on our faces but isn't this just hype of a sort. Isn't archery really about accuracy and not supersonic speed. I mean it might feel good to say "I"..., or "my bow shoots three hundred and fifty feet per second" but where does that get you? Couldn't you just work on developing you ranging skills and save some of that backmuscle for your old age. Don't the fastestbows just store more of your exerted energy because of the capabilities engineered into thier design? I'm saying don't they just take more effort to use and also are harder to control to some degree? I'm really just trying to look at it objectively and asking for the most part because I've never owned a speed demond and don't see the practicallity to me. Again though, it's just my thoughts and I'm not familiar with super fast bows but what's thier advantage if your not in complete control of the arrow? Are they super accurate and superfast? Honestly? That would be tits!
I'm really just talking cause I'm kinda bored and still learning as much as possible. Please excuse me.
I think my "main" point was you don't get anymore out of them then you put in, right?

Pinwheel Thanks for the assist,That was it the Pearson Advantage!
Chief HH,Although ive never had the oppertunity to let this bow rip,Ive seen it in action, and was blown away by the speed.I remember one guy shooting one in a indoor league, when he pulled his shot.It completly penetrated ,NEW Excelsior bales,a 3/4 inch OSB partioned wall, and stuck the tip,out the rear of the building siding.Pinwheel may be able to add more, since he had the oppertunity to play with it.Fastest thing ive ever seen then and now,but like Pinwheel already stressed,it's not fair to compare one to the other.

I played with a nice blue one with white limbs. It was smoking fast,(over 330 with a fairly heavy arrow) but you really had to watch what you were doing with it, and you couldn't shoot any sort of lightweight arrow out of it in fear of busting them in half at the shot. It's been quite awhile and I forget some of the quirks it had, but I remember thinking that if someone took that technology and ran with it enough to iron out the quirks and tame it down some........... Anybody know where I can find one for sale? Good shooting, P12
