Parker Ultralite 31 Test drive= :-[
I am looking for a new bow and just test drove the parker UL31, Phoenix 34, hoyt vteck spiral and Mathews switchback. I was leaning towards the UL31 but WOW. Its quick its light but it also vibrates like 2 crowbars struck together. Just awful. The hoyt and phoenix are comparable but still didn't excite me. The mathews is absolutely amazing. Quietest and smothest bow I have ever shot. But also at 760 + rest way out of my price range.
Anyone got a mid range bow they would recommend I try for stalk hunting?

I don't think you can wrong with a Martin, thats what i'm going with after shooting a Parker,,there was just to much hand shock and it was just to light of a bow ,you had to put extra weight on it just to get it to balance out and still i could not get my groups tight enough.

For mid-range, you might want to look at the Hoyt Ultramag, Bowtech Blackhawk package (2005), Darton Avalanche, or the new Fred Bear bow that is coming out soon. Martin does have some nice bows in the mid-range of price, or as the bowhunting magazines have started calling it "price point."

I would check out the Diamond line of bows as well. I went to high school with the original owner, inventor of Diamond Archery, (Josh Halbert) but Bowtech bought them out. Here is a nice report Matt/PA did a month or so ago about the Victory Solitaire.

If you like Hoyt then check out the Reflex line which is also made by Hoyt, you might find something you like. They use the cams and alot of the same technology only not as current. Also check out the Diamond line which is made by Bowtech. APA archery also has a couple interesting models that again use Bowtech cams (under license).
