I have been buying drop away rests like pop corn and really can't afford to but I finally took some of the guys advice on here and ordered a Muzzy Zero Effect. I really didn't like the looks of it but none of the other rests were either quiet enough or dropped out of the way. I got it today. I reserved my string-put a new loop on while I watched the video a couple of times. I usually dive right in but decided to use the video as a guide. I installed the rest and right off had a problem, the rest was hitting my hand when I shot. The video has a trouble shooting section so I watched it again and they covered this problem. I reset the rest as instructed and BINGO, it worked perfectly. The guy in the video says if you set it up as instructed, you will shoot a bullet hole the first time thru paper. Being a skeptic, I dismissed this as hype. Well, I was right, The arrow was about a 1/4" nock low. After remembering what the video said, I realized this was my error (boy, do I hate to be wrong).I would have to give this rest on a scale of 1-10 an 11 on the following points.
Super quiet- GREAT instructions-shootability-and any thing else I could think of. If it holds up, I couldn't see EVER going to a different rest. You may have figured out by now, I really like this rest and after trying so many in the last 2 months, I am relieved to finally find something that work exactly like advertised. I didn't like the arm that pulled the rest into position being attached only to the 200 thousands wire that supports the arrow. I modified this with a oil lite bushing going thru an alum. support. The arm that pulled the rest up was then attached to the oil lite bushing that had a solid support. This worked out great and could be a good modification for GKF. The one thing I couldn't get around was the noise. I tried several things to quiet it down on the shot but got frustrated. I also wasn't happy with the spring or the tubing and used the cord by itself. I shoot a Parker feather mag II and just could not get it quiet. Other people have had good results with the Mirage but it just didn't happen for me. Don
