Default RE: shooting form a tree stand vs ground

When you are in the stand do you bend at the waist or just lower your arms to get the pin on??

You beat me to it Ausie!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

I would have to assume that you are dropping your bow arm and standing straight up. Try bending at the waist and I bet your shots will hit the mark.

That is a common problem and is usually easily fixed.

Good luck.

why when I shoot from the ground I hit a dime size target, yet when I'm in my stand the arrows always go over the back???? I have to readjust my sites when I change each time????

I agree, bend at the waist. But you also need to be lining up consistently each time... Try this technique: always shoot with either the fletching or the nock of the arrow touching the corner of your mouth, and your nose touching the bowstring - that way every time you look through your peep sight you'll be lining up the same way, regardless of shot angle... Shooting down from a stand using this method would absolutely forces you to bend at the waist, as it won't allow you to just drop the bow if your nose is on the string. If you don't like this particular method after trying it, find one that works for you... but whatever it is, make sure that your lining up your sights consistently every time or your accuracy will vary GREATLY based on your shooting angle.

CWD is part of natural selection and has been in the herd for decades. Don't let the media-hype scare you because it's exactly that... HYPE. Have a great hunt in '02.
