Is there a "rule of thumb" to go by when selecting your arrow lenght compared to your draw lenght. My draw lenght is 27" and my arrow lenght (without any broadhead or tip) is 28" which makes it be 30" with my broadhead. A guy @ a bow shop is going to put a drop away rest on for me & he said I needed to cut off 2 inches on each arrow. Does this sound right? Most of the other guys I've talked to say there arrow lenght is shorter than their draw lenght. I didnt decide that arrow lenght, the previous shop (that I dont use now) where I bought my bow from said thats what I needed, and me being new to the sport believed him. Whats ya'lls opinion?

Put an arrow on,draw back and have someone mark your arrow about an inch in front of the riser.That is your arrow length.

I have the same draw as you and I use a 26 inch arrow now but my first were even a little shorter then 26. I used the Muzzy Zero Effect rest. I had no problems at all. I use the 26 inch now because its easier to order and a little more wight for me

Usually 1 inch shorter than your draw, but that is variable.

It dedends on preference, bradheads, type of rest and so on

i like my broadhead to be a little out from the end of the riser (my fingers) incase the arrow somehow impacts my hand on release.

I have to have a long arrow on my bow because my bow is old and I have to keep my arro longer to clear the riser... but all my buddies have shorter arrows for more speed.

I have a 29" draw and 28" arrows. Have your proshop mark your arrows after you get the drop away. I do believe you will have shorter arrows too. Good luck.

I have a 28" draw and I was shooting a 26 3/4 arrow ,with a muzzy rest ,but I had a problem with the rest not picking up the arrow early enough and the broadhead's were catching on the front of my riser ,so to rectify this I added an extra 1/4" and now is perfect .
