Default silencing my bow

I just bought a switchback and the dealer told me I don't need string silencers or limb savers. He said that they actually make the bow noisier, this model only. Is this true ?

Thats a weird statement. I would think that using them would not do anything but help. Mathews already uses a string bumper type system that is supposed to dampen the string. Adding leeches can't do anything but help it IMO.

That is a pretty stupid statement especially from a shop. You think they would suggest it so that they could make some more money on the sale.
Like muzzy said, they cant hurt.

ron, I can't see dampening deviced hurting in any way other that to reduce noise. One thing to keep in mind though. Make sure your bow is tuned well. A precisely tuned bow will eliminate much of the unwanted noises.

I have Limb Saver Ultras on the inside of the limbs, bat wings on the bottom two cables, and string leeches on the string. I had a hand buzz so I put a Limb Saver strip out in front of the grip. No more buzz and now dead silent. LOOK OUT!!!
