Help....I'm running out of arrows!!!
Can someone of my fellow hunters PLEASE help me with a problem that has arisen?
I had a Muzzy Zero Effect installed the other day and now my bow is shooting a FOOT high!!!!!
I am not joking. Tonight I broke three Eastons and Three Gold Tips just trying to hit the Block target in my backyard at 10 yards!!!!!
My peep sight seems to be the same....but the draw length seems a little longer than before the rest was installed?
ANY advice (PLEASE) would be greatly appreciated. The Bow Opener is Saturday and I was shooting DEAD ON until this "upgrade". I also was wondering if someone could tell me the easiest way to shorten my draw length???
Here's my setup:
A 2000 Browning Adrenaline
60 lbs and 31" draw length (It feels a bit long...almost out of control now.)
Muzzy Zero Effect Rest
An Eagle Eye Pendulum sight from G&B enterprises in Rome, GA
Thanks in advance for ANY help.......and best of luck to everyone this season!

I would imagine that you would have to retune your bow and reset your sight. Of the last 15 I have had, when I have changed the rest, I had to retune. It would seem that going from a normal rest to a drop away rest would require a BIG change in tune. That has been my experience.

The MZE installation should not have effected your draw length. Parer tune, then group tune, and then set your sights. Put on your broadheads and check their flight. If you don't know how to do these things try here. http://www.eastonarchery.com/news/tu...ning_guide.pdf
Download and follow the instructions. If you still feel your unable to do this, take your rig to a pro shop. While your there have them shorten your draw length.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

KegaloHunter, the new rest has to be higher than the old one. You may need to lower the rest, or raise the nocking point. Make sure the nock point is square or slightly above square. Then do as nub says.

One thing that will make it shoot higher is before you were most likely using a rest that allowed the arrow to sit down between the prongs a bit,now the arrow sits on top of the rest. This should explain some of the heigth problem.I have no idea why the draw length would have changed because the shop should not have had to do anything to affect it.I would say it is just that you are noticing something different and it is most likely a confidence thing. If it was right before it should be right now.
Regardless as to what is going on,try getting the tune worked out.Either you were too low with your rest before and the shop got it straightend out or they messed it up.I would check it thru paper and sight it in before I lost anymore arrows. Then work on group tuning. If you stll think the draw isn't right after getting some confidence back in the equipment,I would definately take it back to see if they can shorten it.Then start the whole process over.

I think I know what the problem is with hitting high. When you draw the bow the rest raises up to support the arrow. This height is higher than your original rest. To get an eyeball check all you have to do is nock an arrow and then grab hold of your cable slide and pull it back till the rest is raised up. Yoou don't need to draw the bow. See if your arrow sits at the proper height in comparison to your rest mounting holes in the raiser. Or you can leave the arrow off and do the same thing only using a bowsquare to check nocking point height. If the rest is too high there has to be an adjustment where you can lower it.
Draw length too long? I'd be willing to bet it was too long before and you're just getting around to noticing it.

Thanks for the input everyone.
I took it to my local pro shop and it seems like the peep sight was way out of whack!
We redid that and all is well again. As for the draw length....he measured it and I'm right on....so best of luck this season to everyone.
I'll be in a tree on Saturday morning hoping for the next P&Y to come my way!
