Default BowTech Allegiance.... 500 grain arrow.... 333 f.p.s.

Hey guys,

I was at the shop today and the owner recieved a call from his rep. The rep was telling him that they got a 28.5" draw length, 100# draw weight Allegiance in, and they tested it out with a 500 grain arrow and it shot 333 f.p.s. with a nock and the hush kit installed!

That means, this bow is putting out 123 ft-lbs of KE! Put a good solid fixed blade b-head on that thing and you can shoot through a cement wall

Yeah but you'd have to stand on the riser to draw it and.... well lets be honest all you could pretty much hunt at that point are eartworms or bugs, and they aren't very tasty or particularly hard to kill.

You sure that was a 28.5" model? Not saying it's not possible cause these cams are off the charts, and god only knows what a 100# model really can do.
You're a MAN if your hunting with that thing.[:-]
If it really is a 28.5"........imagine a 30".

Hey Matt,

Thats what the rep said. 28.5" draw and 333 f.p.s. with a 500 grain arrow! Geez, with a 30" draw, you can expect a good 17 f.p.s. or so.... a 500 grain arrow at 350 f.p.s.... 136 ft-lbs of KE!

Hmmm, I hate to say anything to you Bowtech guys but, I think there are a few other bows out there that could push 333fps shooting 500 grains at 100 lbs. If not I will eat my Lone Wolf hat.

What you are really saying is that this bow would shoot this 500 grain arrow at 233 FPS if it was set at 70 pounds. [X(]

That's not what he is saying at all. What he is saying, is that if the rep is correct in his findings, that this bow is very, very effecient at heavier poundages. BTW, if my calculations are correct, it would put a 500 grain arrow at 28.5" draw right at 280 fps, producing 87 ft. lbs of KE. There is no [X(] about that, just and .
