Tuning frustration.
I shot my q2xl yesterday after having a set of winners choice cables and string installed on it. I made one adjustment to my string loop, and was shooting bullet holes. I shot from about 8 feet from the paper and shot 5 more times and got bullets on each one. I figured the paper tuning was done and I would move on to shooting broadheads and group tuning. I was going to tie a nock set above my loop just for safety sake and shot through the paper one more time today just for piece of mind. Now all of a sudden I am getting high tears to the right and sometimes to the left. I am very careful of my grip so I don't think I am torquing the bow, and after shooting all bullet holes yesterday, I don't know what the heck to think. My pro shop also timed the cam when they put the new string on. What could be going on, and what should I do? It is only 4 weeks till season and I don't want to be insane before it ever gets here. I checked my arrows and I don't think I am getting vane contact. I am shooting carbon express cx 300 shafts with 4 inch vanes fletched at 4 degrees. I assume my arrows are spined right for my 65 pound draw weight, 30 inch draw, and 100 grain heads. Expecially with the bullet holes I already achieved once. Please help. Thanks.

RE: Tuning frustration.
After being shot and then resting overnight, your string and cable have settled in to their service lengths. Your loop is likely higher now that it was yesterday. Doing anything but rough tuning with any string/cable change, even using Winners Choice, until you've put some arrows through the bow is a waste of time and effort. I'd shoot about a hundred arrows then wait overnight again to make sure you've got all the creep out of the string, then put twists in the string/cable to get everything back in spec, then start fine tuning. After that, your bow should hold tune.

Thanks ArthurP, I think I will hire you as my personal bowhunting counselor. LOL. You were right my nocking point was higher, and I noticed the two holes in my cam might have moved just a bit due to the string settling in. I guess I will get them back parallel to the string and then start fine tuning again. I was starting to get bent out of shape but your fine display as a psychologist has but me back in shape. Thanks buddy.

That is unusuall for Winners Choice but like Arthur said,You must always make sure.
The person that built my string put it on a Hooter Shooter at full draw for 24 hours. When I got it there was absolutely no creep or settling.I have shot all 3-d season with it and the peep hasn't even rotated from it's original position. He marked the cam and it is still in the same position.
He will definately be my first stop from now on when I get a new bow.
It is amazing the difference a good string will make on a bow.

Winners Choice TELLS you to shoot some arrows to set the string (25-100) when doing a fresh install. after sitting in a bag, they can loose their pre-stretch length.
AFTER break in, you should have NO more stretch (has worked for me. 2nd year on the string AND harness...no visible movement as far as the marks on my cam, and nock height are concerned)
