Those are definitely some very impressive #s. I have to agree, the # Krenz is listing seem much too slow. The Edge is a very nice bow, and pretty quick compared to the average bow, but it only has an IBO of 310. With the IBO rating of 328 (or thereabouts), the Allegiance should be significantly faster, not even. I just had a Patriot Dually for a short while. If you are getting that kind of speed in a quieter package, without the ultra-short valley, I think they will be selling pretty fast. Is Bowtech a corporation? Can you buy stock?

ORIGINAL: Ausie-guy

Draw lengths set at "29 inches and 70 pounds."
Arrow wt..305 grains.. speed..326 fps
I think there was a typo as well.
I agree there was a typo. 60# not 70#

305gr, 70#, 29" Alliegance...

man that would prolly be pushin 350fps

There are major typos. 305 gr at 70#? Why would he do that? I also find it interesting the numbers were so close, within a couple fps with each arrow.

....Still no reply from Inside Archery........

Interestingly enough I pulled the info below from the bowhunting forum. If we take Cloud 9's 298 fps number add 10 feet a second for the inch of draw factor and another 2 fps for the extra 10 grains of weight over the 348 grains of Krenz's test arrow, that gives us 12 fps. 298+12=310fps...
That would put it right in line with what Krenz test shows.

I am not trying to start anything, just making observations...Whether 60 pounds or not it is still fast. I am very interested in the Allegiance and could very well end up owning one so I am not trying to put down the BowTech product.

Got to put a bunch of arrows through the new Mathews Switchback and Bowtech Allegience today. Both bows set at 28" draw and 72 lbs. I compared brace heights, both seemed to be 7" as specs say. I shot the same a 358 grain arrow. Chronograph speeds consistently gave Bowtech the edge........Allegience 298 fps and Switchback 290 fps. Both bows had 2 nock sets. The Mathews nothing else on the string and the Bowtech had a hush Kit.

Here are a few more quotes I took off of the AT forum

Allegiance!!!!!!!
Shot this bow to night for the first time. It was a 29in draw 70## with a 415gr arrow it shoot 286 with a 350gr it shoot 307 it does have a little hand shock and a little hard on the draw NOW should i get 70 or 80 pound limbs????Would it be much different???
Krenz' numbers....
416 grain arrow.....284 fps
348 grain arrow.....308 fps

The one we tested in my shop yesterday at 69.5lbs at 29" shot my 413gr easton axis at 290fps. Tried a 451gr alum at it shot 280. This thing is smoking.
Krenz' numbers...
412 grain....285 fps
491 grain....264 fps

i got my shooter bow a few days ago and set it up.Its 29' draw 60 #"s and with a 305 grain GT ultra 22 it shoots 315 just like the birth cert. said it would .I love it so smooth and quiet.Cant wait till my Old Glory comes in ________________
Krenz's numbers with 29" draw at 70#....
305 grain arrow......326 fps

I have a Liberty and have shot the All. Man is the bow fast. Set on the same weight and .5" shorter draw (29"@70#) the All. shot my 437 gr. arrow 286fps. My Lib. shoots it at 258.
Krenz's numbers;
426 grain arrow.....281 fps

Again, I don't see Krenz's numbers as outrageous if we are to believe these peoples testimonials.

Still no reply from 'Inside Archery'.

I dunno???

My BC says 70# 29inch 320fps. I got 321fps with a 349 grain arrows after I got home at those specs. Adding peep and kisser only dropped me 2fps to 318fps. After I chose my arrows set them up and adjusted draw weight to 5 gpp. Ended up at 310 grains at 62# pounds. It still yields that same 318 fps. Lost zero efficiency on my set up dropping from 5 gpp at 70# to 5 gpp at 62#.

Looks like it is safe to say we are not going to get a reply from 'Inside Archery'. Some of you by now have read his report. While the BowTech camp is not happy with the speed numbers he put in the article, he really didn't have anything bad to say about the bow.

For example....."I had been warned by the BowTech guys that I'd find something extraordinary when I tested this new bow. But even then, I wasn't fully prepared for what I saw, felt, and heard when I finally began running a 2005 BowTech Allegiance VFT through its paces.
How does this new BowTech shoot? The straight, unpolitical scoop on the Allegiance VFT is that it is one of the fastest bows I have ever tested as well as being one of the quietest and most shock-free bows I have ever tried. It is amazing."-Bill Krenz January 2005 issue of 'Inside Archery'.
