Want Gold Tips, but...
Here's a tough one for you guys. I'm in the market for new arrows and I want to get Gold Tip's cause they are made in the US, but my problem is I want an arrow around 420gr and GT doesn't make an arrow that heavy for use with my current set up. The reason for 420 is I want good speed, trajectory, SILENCE and penetration and from all the KE caculators i've used this would give me the best all around performance. I only use my bow for hunting. Current set up is a 28" arrow, 100gr broadheads, 65# draw (bow will max @ 70). This puts me at a 5575 pro hunter, but will only get to 381gr according to Gold Tip's arrow builder. The only way I see to get a GT arrow and get my 420gr is to use their 7595 arrows that are much stiffer. How will TOO MUCh spine affect my accuracy and arrow flight? Is this the route I should take or should I look to different arrows. By the way, Eastons are either too $$$ for me or not straight enough and the Carbon Expresses are not made here, but offer a better selection of arrow weights and straightness (Korean Express). What would you do?

Doesn't GT have some type of internal weighting thingy? I was thining they did...
As far as too stiff, you'll hear both sides, but in my experience, if you are shooting a release and a center shot bow, too stiff is no problem whatsoever, and in fact can even be better as the arrow quits vibrating quicker.
That's what Bob Ragsdale thinks too...

Carbon Express makes an arrow weight tube that adds up the 3 grains per inch to your arrows. I think Gold Tip also makes some weight tubes. I have heard of them but could not find them. Gold Tip also has a problem with being underspined. If I were pulling 65 lbs, I would go ahead and buy the 7595 arrows. That way you can put a few more pounds on your bow. I found this out the hard way.

If you want to stay with the 55/75 spine, go to the GT trads, the ones with the wood grain look, they will give you the weight you want. They are heavier per grain per inch then the blacks and camos. Camos are a little heavier then the blacks.

Contenderman - Looks like you and I shoot similar setups. I have been using the 55/75 because I wanted the speed of a lighter arrow. Now I realize that speed is not everything and am looking for much the same weight you are looking for. My solution is I am going with the 75/95 in camo hunter pro. At least that is what I want to try now. I do not feel that being "over spined" will be an issue for me much like it is not fo Stonyrvr shooting them at 27".

y'all might think i'm crazy, but you can use weedeater string . cut the string the length of your arrows, that will give you an extra grain per inch.
Or, if you can find them, get the GT series22. they are 10.2 gr per in

I was thinking on the same line as Ausie-Guy. What weight will a 75/95 and 125 gr.
tip be? With my GT's I am shooting now I am shooting 125gr. tips on them. They
seem to group a little better with the heavier tip(for me at least).
