Left-eye, right-eye dominant ??
Ok, what gives?
I'm right handed but left-eye dominant. Ok, I can handle that. Been dealing with it for awhile now in varying shooting sports. But...
If I draw my bow right-handed (left hand holding bow, right hand drawing string), I have to shift my face over so that I can see through the peep sight with my left eye (both eyes open). If I draw my bow left-handed (right hand holding bow, left hand drawing string), I have to shift my face over so that I can see through the peep sight with my right eye (both eyes open).
Does this make sense? It appears that if I draw right handed, I'm left eye dominant. But if I draw left handed, I'm right eye dominant. What gives? Am I missing something here? Is this normal?
If I draw the bow left handed, I can not see anything with my left eye! Everything is in my right eye. But just the opposite if I draw right handed. I guess I'm just wierd.

Are you trying to shoot a right handed bow left handed? If so, wouldnt the riser next to the sight window be blocking your vision (at least in your right eye.) Like rangeball says, I just close my left eye. Works for me.

Try and get hold of a left handed bow and give it a try. Oughta be able to find one pretty cheap in a pawn shop or flea market to test out. Whether it fixes the problem or even if it does worse, then at least you'd have learned whether the problem is you or the equipment.

I plan to shoot right-handed because it feels more comfortable to me. I only found out about this issue as I'm trying to build up my strength in both arms now. So I switch from right to left handed draws. Basically, just messing around. But it's still a wierd thing. I'll just end up doing what I do with the shotgun...close my left eye.

My father has a similar problem. He's right hand dominant but left eye dominant. It doesn't affect him when using a gun but when he bow hunted he put a patch over his left eye to make him use his right eye when shooting. He wore glasses so he just threw the patch over his eye when shooting. Without the patch he'd always try to use his left eye which is natural and it's virtually impossible to shoot a bow like that. Try the patch, it worked for him, it's worth a try! Good Luck!
