You are truly a poet Jeff. I like your analogy of " no bow is perfect and may never be". People should take heed to this, because it also work's on other level's. Good report so far, So long, but I will read on.
Good shooting.

Excellent report, Jeff! Divide it into chapters and have it bound.

You're putting the magazines to shame. I've often wished bow reports would look more like the car reviews done by the finer automotive publications--exhaustive in scope and offering constructive, reasoned critiques. You and Frank are providing a credible blueprint. Thanks.

Jeff, great report!

Have you weighed the bow yourself? Is the factory weight accurate?

The only other problem with Bowtech is that they are sold out until June, I was told. If your dealer hasn't ordered, he isn't going to get stock any time soon. My dealer has one on order, which means it won't be my length. Same goes for my other dealer, who never carries 30" bows, he has several coming in, but they won't fit longer draws.

Jeff,

Here it is a day later and I feel a whole lot wiser...

Very good report my friend...but I feel you should now be obligated to do at least one a month...

What I really liked about it was the fact that you went into so much detail with some of the components...like Gordon Glass, Colorworks, etc....nicely done.

My only complaint is, as Matt stated before, you don't own a digital camera and there aren't any pictures!!

I look forward to the next one....maybe you can do another "classic bow report"...

Thanks again for the excellent read..

Though I am no longer in the market for a new bow this year. I always feel compelled to read your reports. Once again, you've done a superb job! You had me breathless in anticipation waiting to read the name of the bow! If you aren't going to do any more bow reports, maybe you could write reviews of accesories? Tell stories about your hunting trips? Something! I know I will miss reading them. Have fun with you bow, maybe pick up a block target with spots to save on arrows?!

All,

Thank you very much for the compliments..being that I don't plan on writing one for awhile, I decided to go all out..hope most of you made it all the way through without snoring!

Ossage,

All you need to do is swap out the module on whatever draw length bow comes in. You would need a DS#1 module for 30" draw on the PAT. Your dealer should have modules, and if not, can order them separately. I could get you one if needed.

EDIT: No I have not weighed it personally. It's definitely over 4 Lbs though. Nice heft without feeling "hefty"

AK (Ron),

You're scaring me,bud I wrote it in bits and pieces..it took me a few hours to write, then a few to edit, cut and paste, etc.

Frank,

I thought some people might be interested in some of those details. Knowledge is Power!

I have been contemplating a few more "classic" reports, or reports on bows I still own but have not done before (my Merlin, my ES, My Jennings Epic, Martin Panther Mag, Jennings BM2000, etc). No promises, but I'll keep it in mind. I'm going to have a hard time setting them up to shoot again though if I do decide to report on them: I just cannot put my PATRIOT down!

Thanx again, being the windbag I am, I will be happy to elaborate or answer questions if need be!
