Noob arrow fletching question
Where does the odd colour vane go?
This is my problem. Right now I have it so that it points left on a right handed bow. But with all my arrows right now the odd colored vane is always getting damaged. My arrows are fletched with 3 vanes. Should I change the way they're fletched to correct this or is there anything else I could try?
Thanks in advance.

RE: Noob arrow fletching question
Hi Luker78, welcome to the forums.
I'm still new to fletching but from what I understand the odd color vane doesn't have to be in any particular spot. Have you checked your rest to see if there are clearance issues?

RE: Noob arrow fletching question
it depends on what kind of rest you have.
If you are shooting a shoot thru rest you need to put the index fletch down where it will pass between the 2 prongs. if you are shooting a plunger type rest you need to point it out for fasllaways is best in the up position for amximum fletch clearance.

RE: Noob arrow fletching question
I'm using a quick tune 750 arrow rest. It uses 2 thin spring loaded metal strips to hold the arrow. I'm also using straight fletching on my arrows.
I had to use that rest because the proshop told me that my bow was too old to use one of the newer rests.

then you will need to shoot with the index fletch out so theinside bottom fletch will pass between the launcher blades the reason you cant use a newer model rest is becaise the center line of the string is close to the riser face which gives you a minimal amount of fletch clearance.
