I melt a small chunk of wax on a piece of Reynolds wrap in the microwave and proceed to rub it on the string. Seems to do the job.

No wax is a good option. Fuzz is a sign of a strong string (not relative to the same string new without fuzz). Weak materials like cotton don't fuzz. Fuzz is pretty self limiting, and anyway if your bow arm isn't in the way where is the fuzz coming from? I don't expect the string companies to stop selling wax, particularly super wax. But I have certainly stopped buying it.
