Back tension is defined as the contraction of the drawing side rhomboid and levator scapulae muscles, which causes the scapula (shoulder blade) to slide and rotate toward the spine

In layman's terms, use your back muscles to rotate your shoulder blade closer toward your spine. This action will also move the shoulder, drawing arm and hand enough to activate a release aid.
I stold that from the guy at this link I blieve his name is George Ryals IV. Don't know him but from the looks of his site, he knows his stuff. Check it out!

"The more hand there is on the bow, the more the problems that can occur."

that really makes no sense whatsoever.

The statement is self-explanatory
But not absolutley accurate in all instances IMO. By using a very high-wrist grip, you'll have little hand contact, but quite a few muscles involved in holding that form. And with a low wrist grip you'll have a little more hand contact, but usually have better bone on bone structure which is much more repeatable over a shooting session. Fewer holding muscles are involved in a low wrist grip. Fewer muscles involoved = more consistent (generally). That's why you see most of professional shooters use a low grip. Not saying you HAVE to use a low grip to be accurate, but if a high grip was inherently better you'd see all the pros doing it (and vast majority aren't). When money is on the line, they go with what works.

In a few different areas...

I probably shoulda said "consciously" in my statement, as at the release, my release hand moves backward slightly...

But it happens automatically, probably more of a result of pulling into the wall.

You bet! It's loaded with great info and has helped me out alot with target and 3D shooting.

I searched on there for the guy who put it together and found it was Bill Pisechko. Hope he doesn't mind me pluging his link here.

The statement did not apply to just a grip. The statement is a play (joke) on various versions of how well a bow does before someone picks it up and tries to shoot it.

"My arrows are perfectly straight. Why don't they fly straight when I shoot them?"
