I'm still trying to figure out which is better... shooting off a padded shelf or off my knuckle. And, if it's the padded shelf, which is better... leather or a rug? [8D]

I'd go leather....slicker surface and more like a drop away in terms of intended effect. Oops, wait a minute, then you better go with the rug.

I think you better 'splain yourself.[>:]

Arthur:

I gave Frank an "outgrown" ash self-bow and an arrow made of multiflora rose for the boy. My guess is that the little guy likes the bright colors.

LOL! I just figgered Frank needed a razzing over that one. Good lookin' kid, ain't he? He obviously gets that from mom.

What was we talking about before I interrupted??? Oh yeah! Dropaways vs conventionals. Carry on, fellers. Sorry about that.[8D]

I figure he posted that pic just to see how long it would take someone to bust his chops!

Back on topic:
I like dropaways, but I don't have much experience with them.....the concept is sound. I had a Mirage that was loud and a pain to tune. Conventional rest are 'in the way' the whole time and are likely the root of most tuning porblems....ie, fletch contact.
