Anyone shooting the Montec...
Is anyone shooting the Montec G-5??? And how do you like them, or what do you dis-like?
I just ordered 2 dozen of these heads, I have not shot them but like the design alot. $240 worth.
I also just got delivered the New Razor Caps, Only got a dozen of these.I really like these but may have some concerns as to how well the Ferrul will hold up against bone. Anyone shooting these heads?

They say the are very dull. I have heard that they are sharp, it's just at an angle where you can't feel it. They said they push them through leather and it slices straight through it.

I got so many because they are valued at $240, at $30 for a pack of 3.
I did a bid on ebay and got a "lot" of Montec G-5 Broadheads at around $17 a pack of 3. hard to turn down that offer.
The razor caps I bought mainly because I like the "Snuffer" style to hunt hogs with down in GA. The razor cap resembles the Snuffer in alot of ways except you can get it in so many different grains. I love the design and how sharp they are!!!! Razor sharp!!! but the ferrul seems a little light. I hope they hold up as they were 30 bucks for 3 also.

I use the Montecs. sharpened them with sandpaper. They still didn't feel as sharp as other broadheads but in March I shot a nice big boar, complete passthrough, alot of blood and he only ran about 30-40 feet. Good enough for me! And the broadhead was still in brand new shape.

I can't address the Razorcap issue, I have never used them.
I have taken a number of animals with the Montec G5 and can tell you they are a top quality head. Because of their design, I feel the sharpeness issue is very deceiving. They are also rock hard tough.
I have flown them very accurately out to sixty yards with no problems.
I think you will like them. At that price, I am wondering if you got some of the first ones made. They have made some subtle improvements on the head since their first run. That said, even the first ones made are good heads.
