Default Fletching my arrows

Do I need to clean the arrows before fletching? How would I do that?

I use alcohol on cotton balls to clean mine.
I have also used nail polish remover to clean it off.

Not just alcohol though. Regular rubbing alcohol has oil in it. Use denatured or 91% ispropyl. If you are doing vanes then it is waise to clean the gluing surface of them as well.

Not all vanes, some have glue activator on them.

Yea you need to whipe them. Acetone works great, make sure theres no oil in the cleaner.

depends on which vanes and adhesive you use
If you are using AAE fastset gel comet and water is what is recommended
other wise Cutex Finger nail polish acetone works very well and also Denatured alcohol.

If you are using carbons then you also need to rough up the arrows surface with a fine grade sandpaper before cleaning it with the alcohol. This gives the fletching a better surface to adhere to.

When i started using GOAT-TUFF glue i don't even need to clean up the arrows. The stuff works wonders!I still scrape off the old fletching as good as i can.

You could also use some of the cresting wraps. It really makes for a nice looking arrow.

On a similar note, where do you guys find the fletching tape that soem people use to put feathers on with?
