The point was driven about 1/2" into the front of the arrow, and the arrow also broke cleanly in two in the middle. So the Axis arrows may be pretty tough, but I personally do not recommend shooting them into a concrete wall!
Well, Joe, just imagine how bad it would have been if the bag hadn't slowed down the arrow slightly. I can attest to the fact that there would have been much more damage.

We have found that the overall weight differential on a dozen shafts is better than average; but, the yield factors for straightness are less than average.

Len, I would agree with you on that one. Two years ago, I was getting a friend started in Bowhunting. I had him come over to shoot one of my Dartons. Even after explaining my reference points, and shooting at 5 yards max, he put a pultruded Beman Hunter with a glue-in target point straight into the concrete wall. It took quite a while to clean up all of the carbon splinters (thousands of them!).[]

Since getting an arrow spinner like you suggested, I have found that 3 of my remaining 10 axis arrows (lost another one) have some wobble to the nock end. The others look pretty much like the ACCs which are very good (every one). If I get any more of these, I will definitely get full length shafts and cut both ends.

Another minor problem I have been noticing is that the nocks seem to get somewhat loose after a while. At first, I was unsure if it was the end of the arrow, of the nock. It may be a little of both, but the nocks do seem to get loose quickly compared to other ICS type arrows. It would be nice if they would come out with a uni bushing for them.

Len and I have discussed the ST AXIS a bit. Unfortunately as he put it on anotheer forum, "SS, DD", is appropriate The consistency in straightness leaves something to be desired. My first dozen was quite good. the second . I've been checking out the bulk packs at the shop and it's about a 50-50 yield. Some are really straight, some are very poor

IMO, Easton needs to bite the bullet, and start grading thier carbons like GoldTip and CX do[:@]

My dealer buys in bulk packs, and I'm sure he'd let me go spin through them and pick & choose, but I'd feel bad about him and other customers being left with all the crooked arrows. If they could just get the straightness runout worked out (or offer the grading), I'd still be shooting them as they are tough, group phenomenally well when straight, and do have very good weight tolerances. I also love the HIT.

Experimentation phase is over for the year, and I'm back to A/C/Cs again.
