vanes hitting cables on mathews fx
can you install cables on back side of cable guard w/a cable slide style or do need a rest that the cock vane is staight out to get the clearance ? these bow has a straight cable guide. dealer said not to do this to the customer. what are your thoughts?

There's generally a problem if this happens and a few things that can solve it.
1. Loose cable guard, check the set screw and see if it's tight. If not don't over tighten it as you'll crush the carbon rod.
2. Incorrect center shot, from the sight window to the center of the shaft should be 13/16" or close. They will tune on the inside, but with arrows that are spined correctly I've always been within 1/16".
3. Switch to right helical fletch, this will cause the back of the vane to go away from the cable.
These are the most common problems that I've found. But if you put the cables on the outside of the rod it can throw them off the cam or idler.
