I'm one of those guys who made an attempt at turning on a lightbulb over there......but Frank you know as well as I do, sometimes (most times) that site turns out to be a trip to the "Wrong Side of the tracks" if you know what I mean.........A few half informed "Experts" who get the train rolling, then all the unregistered mob jumps in with their brilliant 2 cents.
You just ride out the storm and see if there's actually someone in there who might listen.....then you try to get a rational word in edgewise.
I'd be curious to see the exact list of Bow companies with the same "Pro-shop" oriented sales and warranty policies.

Not that I want to take anything away from HotLZ's thread.......god forbid I would bring that crowd to the "Nice part of Town" What a zoo......I don't even know why I bother.

On a happy note......my Patriot will be in hand some time in April. Start the countdown.
You any closer to a decision Frank?

Yeah, but Matt, I don't think you have to worry about bringing any trouble over to the "nice part of town".....

....cuz we have better "guns" over here......or maybe I should say more vigilant "deputies"...

To answer your question, No, I haven't totally made my mind up yet. Jeff and I have been exchanging emails to pass the time until the message board came back online. He has me talked out of the Extreme Solo (for now )....and I have it then narrowed down to the Pro38, Gen 3.2 and Patriot.

I received the money order for my Havoctec in the mail today, so all I have to do is call down tomorrow to see if they are in......"Daddy" could have a new bow to "play with" tomorrow night....

Frank......did you just refer to yourself as "DADDY" and use the phrase "PLAY WITH" in a conversation with me?....
Not sure I liked the tone of that!!

Easy there big fella!!

Wasn't that "Downtime" just torture!!?? I felt like a Crack addict in a rubber room for a while there........

I will stick to my prediction tho......2002 "Pro38"
The Gen3.2 is nice.....but if you're used to a light bow and that's a concern, you're gonna need to hire a kid to "Caddy" for you this season, as it weighs like 4.6lbs. We wouldn't want you to pull an eyelash and be out for the entire season!

Just think tho.....if you get either the Pro38 or the Patriot we'll be shooting the same bows!! Brothers reunited!..........Sing along with me.......Reunited-and it-feels-soooooo-goooood!

That "other thread" is so off-base it's not even funny. Other than that I'd rather not comment...let's move on please.

Yeah, I think I've got Frank all confused now...I think he's going to buy one of those new Mathews Bowfishing bows

My dealer is suposed to have some Pats in the next couple of days as well. I'll wait and see whay happens as some bad stuff happened at my company today and my bow budget might be cut substantially.

If that's the case, it looks like I'll be doing a budget bow for my next report..any suggestions?

I too have been reading the threads elsewhere with much interest. Let me enlighten you all on the sitting on my doorstep comment.

I have no bowtech dealer within many miles of me. However, there is a bowtech dealer in my dad's hometown. I told him when they got a Patriot in to go buy it for me, and send it to me UPS. Up until now, I hadn't seen the need to clarify that point.

Now Frank, as a previous owner of both a Pro38 and an Extreme Solo, I am highly recommending to you to go with the Patriot. Blows the others away.

Matt,

How can you be complainin' to me about using "Daddy" and "Play with" in the same sentence when you end your post singin' Barbara Streissand or Lionel Richie or whoever sings that darn song!

So, if I follow Matt's advice then I might as well not even pick up the Gen 3.2 because piddly ol' me won't be able to lift it off the rack...

Jeff,

Mathews makes a bowfishing bow? Hmmmm....

Ya know something? I like the idea of you doing a bow report on a mid or low price range bow. I was thinking of going that route myself with my next bow (after the Btecher).

Hmmm, why don't you try out one of the Jennings/Fred Bear, etc... models like the Vapor 300, Whitetail Pursuit, Hypertech, Rackmaster, etc..... We both agree that they are underrated as a whole.

HotLZ,

I figured as much, regarding the "on the doorstep" comment.......not that it matters one way or the other to me how you procured the bow......but don't goin' say that "over there"....

Now, if I listen to you, I might as well forget the Pro38 and just get the Patriot......I will let you all know tonight.....hopefully.

As ridiculous as it was it got some attention from the higher ups at Bowtech. Mr. Strasheim even showed up.

I'm in the same boat as Matt. Waiting!!
I have a pretty big dilema myself. My normal dealer, through whom I've bought all of my bows, just placed my Patriot order a week or so ago. So it will be a while until it gets here. The other local dealer placed an order for a Patriot at the AMO show and should have it in few days. So I'm going to have to live with the torture of holding and shooting the bow I want but not being able o buy it.

Or should I just get 2?

Well, the other dealer finally got some 2002’s in. I have a Patriot on hold, but he also got some 2002 Pro-38’s so I will be checking those out too on Saturday afternoon if I cannot make it in tomorrow.

Frank,

I’m still unsure about my budget (will know later today after a company meeting), so I’m definitely keeping the budget bows in mind, In particular the Bear TRX. Also looking at the new MagnaTec, the Martin Cougar Fusion and Magnum, as well as some of the non-bio grip McPherson’s/Pearsons.

Matt,

Although the G 3.2 is a little heavier, isn't it supposed to have a smoother draw and a more even nock travel ? That's the way it reads anyway. Haven't seen it myself, or any 2002 models for that matter, since my dealer hasn't received his shipment yet.
Heck, the weight doesn't bother me.
After all, I shoot an Accu-Riser, lol.

Sag, Yep that's the way it reads........and it's performance should more than outweigh any extra mass weigh for us guys who are used to shooting bows that weigh more than a lb. I was only kidding around at Frank's expense........
Maybe He could get a sling for it?.....or a tripod
