Debating on getting a Pro40 dually but not sure on the poundage to get just wondering if I get a 50lb max bow (don't need that much weight due to draw length) how much off from the stated IBO would the bow shoot, i.e. 30" 70lbs 350gr = 332fps does 30" 50lbs 250gr = 315fps
Btw, I love my 30.5" draw length![Big Grin](https://www.huntingnet.com/forum/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Looked at two Black Knight birth certificates one was 71.0 lbs 28" 350 gr. 315 fps the other was 61.5 pounds 29" 300 gr 318 fps. So if you adjust the 70 lb up 11 fps to 326 fps as this is the average speed gain going from 28" to 29" on this model you have a difference of 8 fps. Also the 60 lb model was a half pound more over its weight than the 70 lb so I would say WalkswithaGimp is right in there with the 10fps.

I have a 60#er. BC is 318 at 61#, 29". I haven't shot through a chrono but, a Techno Hunt showed 293-295 at 20 yds. This was with a 320 gr arrow. I'd guess that to be close to 310. Given your draw length, I'd guess you'll be close to the same speed.

My 04 Pro 40 Dually out of the box was shooting 326 at 30" 60# with a 301gr 3D select shaft. I shortend the draw length to 29" at 53# with a CE CXL that weighs 315 grain it is doing 285f/s. I will bring the weight up to 60 by summer. Fantastic bow the best Bowtech I have owned yet. can't wait for my Extreme VFT to show up.

DLE, I didn't mention the smoother, easier draw of the 04 Dually when compared to the 03s. I shot my 03s at 55-57#. My 04 at 60# is easier to draw, IMO. I'd get the 60#er if I were you. I've noticed when shooting lower weight bows (under 55#) the holding weight wasn't enough to feel a good solid wall. More holding weight made shooting easier for me. But try both if you can. It may not be that way for you. And of course, this is just my opinion.

DLE,
From the advertised 70 lbs. and using a 5 grain per pound arrow, BowTech deducts 4-6 fps. for their 60 lb. bows and 7-10 fps. for their 50 lb. bows.
Regards, Pat
