Hey Pabowhunter,
You know we're not going to be happy until you compare your MM VFT to the Outback. You could just shorten the cable a little and go with a little longer string loop.

I looked at an Outback today. The finish was very nice. When I drew it back I noticed the near absense of a valley. I think it's more a case of very little break over into the valley. But if you relax and creep a small bit, it wants to get away from you. I didn't shoot it so I can't comment further.

As for the draw length issue...the MM VFT I am shooting now is a "30 inch" draw length though the actual draw is about 30.25...good for me since it still feels a bit short...

After owning a MQ-1 , a Ultra 2 , and an LX (and shooting tons of friend's bows)over the last 7 years ........I don't think the valley is that bad for a Mathews at all. My Ultra 2 would rip your arm off if you crept much......true be told !!
I felt the draw on the Outback was comparable to the LX and when letting down it had plenty of room for creep on 80 % to me ! There are plenty of other bows that I would be more worried about creeping with/or letting down with........including some of the favorites around here !!
