New Strings, Arm Slap ???
I have Mathews Q2 Bow. Last fall I had custom strings put on my bow. Since the new strings were put on I have had arm slap. With the old strings I never had that problem. Could someone tell me if there could be something wrong the the new strings? If there is what can be done about it? Or do I have to get new stings? I don't think I am doing nything different.[8D]

Check your axle to axle length now compaired to the factory stated axle to axle length. The string could be a touch to long causing you to slap your arm. Hope this helps.

Thanks for your reply reference arm slap. The factory axel to axel is 34 inches. The bow now measures 34 1/4. Would that be enough to cause arm slap? Can the string be shorten by twisting? Or do I have to get a new string?

You'll have to check a couple things. One is cam rotation. On your cam you will see two little holes. they should line up parallel to your string. if they don't, you cam is out of rotation (this WILL affect draw length). Usually twisting you string or cable can get this back in line (this will require a bow press). After the hole line up you have to check your brace height. This measurment is taken from the pivot oint of the grip to the string. the proper brace height for the Mathews Q2 is 7 and one half inches. If it is lower than that, you string and cable have probably stretched and need replaced.
