I too am not a fan of the hoyts, I just don't like the tec risers & the feel of the bows. I liked the havoc much better. I still think the bow I like the best out there right now is the Q2. the new PSE nitro was one sweet bow but I like the Q2 the best.

as far as the rumors, man machined risers just don't break in half. the old cast magnesium riser would if they had a air pocket in them but machined aluminum is a whole new ball game. I really think that is a rumor started on the internet. this mathews, hoyt, bowtech pissing contest is getting old. just shoot what you like & get the bow that feels best to you. all these companies are making some good stuff now!

As with anything in life as with bows. One guy can shoot a bow and say "This sucks!!" But the next guy can pick up the same bow, and say "WOW! I gotta have this thing!" Then takes it home and for the first week or two practically sleeps with the thing! Personally I shoot a Parker 31, and have a cybertec on order, used to shoot a MQ-1, but for me the mathews just dont do it, but they do for a ton of other people! Like moonge says the pissing match is getting old! Everyone likes/dislikes diff. equipment and thats that!!

Sucks! From two people! I would have to say no matter what I shoot or favor I would never tell any one that a product sucks. I have no trouble with my CyberTec.

I dont like ### Bows and think they suck but I would never say it because, what does not work for me may work for others. I think we are not acting like adults here.

I got a email from a member asking me about my cybertec because PA said they suck. And they where worried about choosing a cybertec. I hope this is not the example you hope other will follow.

Grndzer,

I guess maybe I should have put a little more sarcasm in my post.... Evidently I didn't convey that well enough.

For the record....they don't "suck" in fact, just the opposite.

I was just getting a little tired of being ganged up on by all the Bowtech and Mathews shooters and standing alone in defense...

The Cybertec would be an excellent choice for a bow. Although I think it was designed primarily for hunters who want a mid axle to axle length bow I think it also serves quite well as a 3D bow. The brace height on the Versacam model I was checking out yesterday measured out at a hair more than 6 7/8th inches...almost seven. Ofcourse, it was the size 3 cam.

I don't think the person you were referencing will have any complaints about the bow....unless they think it is too lightweight (sarcastic smiley).

PABowhunter: Why you selling your havoctec on ebay? Were you not happy with it? To short?

It's ok Frank, I knew you were joking. And more than likely ole Jerry was just ripping on Frank a little for fun.

I am sure what Jerry meant to say is that they do not compare to the Mathews and that he does not like them.

Since you haven't been here much lately Artic, I will help a brother out.

bloodtrail1,

No, there was nothing wrong with the Havoctec..and to be honest with you, it was the most perfect bow for the types of applications that I generally use them for. Lightweight, short, quiet, accurate, excellent construction, adjustable and decent speed. Heck, I went to my first 3D shoot of the season yesterday and shot a 250 with 5x's out of 300...and I haven't shot farther than 15 yards since hunting season back in November.

But, Jeff and a few others reminded me of what I had forgot.....that I love trying new things. My budget/financial concerns and other interests have restricted me somewhat in recent months from purchasing as many bows as I once did.

No longer. I think it is time for me to try something new...whether it be the same brand or a different one I haven't decided...but I have my eye on a few different models...

..and if I don't like the new bow then I will sell it on Ebay and just buy another Havoctec before hunting season. It won't be hard going back to it....

IBM,

Thank God that they don't compare to the Mathews...

I thought I had posted a reply earlier, but it looks like it didn't come up. I clarified my post a little because I think the majority of the folks here don't realize the sarcasm tossed around on a frequent basis. I mentioned that it was a little harsh indicating that they sucked. I did not like the feel for them, and wanted to at least express that I openly tried them, and didn't like them in comparison to what I have been shooting. It's all about personal preference, and what works best for you. I wanted to convey the fact that bows suit different people, and one persons opinion could be 100% different from anothers. Maybe shooting styles even play a factor in everything. Even with my Mathews at 2" of a short draw length, I was still able to slap arrows together out to 40 yards, and shoot a 279 my first time ever scoring on a 300 round with 19 X's.

I guess it can be looked at like the whole Ford vs. Chevy vs. Dodge, etc. etc. It's all in fun, but some people just seem to get too sensative with the issue. Thank God for people like Frank that we can rib on a regular basis!

The main thing people should know and learn from posts like these, are if they are in the market for a bow, they need to try out everything, not just what the majority in a single post raves about.

IL_BOW, thanks for looking out bro!
